What this edit history shows

The Wikipedia article on Alan Turing has been edited 9,073 times since it was created in 2001, by 4,031 distinct accounts and IP addresses. That averages about 366 recorded changes a year, or several every day, which puts it among the more actively maintained pages on the encyclopedia.

Within the revisions retrieved for this report, the ten busiest contributors account for about 37% of the changes, with the rest spread across a long tail of occasional editors. That is a fairly typical mix of regular maintainers and passing corrections. In the same window, about 9% of the retrieved revisions came from bot accounts, which handle routine work such as link repair and reference formatting.

Within the retrieved window, 2024 carries the most recorded activity, with 151 changes. The page is currently busy: 63 of those revisions fall in the last 90 days. The most recent recorded edit was 20 days ago.

Readership has been broadly stable across the last two years of pageview data. The clearest peak in that record falls in August 2025. Traffic spikes and editing spikes often line up, but the revision record alone cannot tell you which one caused the other, or whether an outside event drove both.

This report is built from the 500 most recent revisions retrieved from Wikipedia, about 6% of the 9,073 recorded edits. Figures drawn from that window describe the window only, and the report cannot establish why a change was made or whether it was correct. For older revisions, talk-page discussion and full context, follow the source history on Wikipedia.

Evedawn99Adding further cited information from the Morcom article, especially about the context of Morcom himself. Adding "citation needed" to a sentence that leans emotional rather than factual. Adding quotation to clarify the material beliefs. This section would also be improved by a quote (which I will endeavor to find) wherein Turing describes Morcom as extraordinary, which is more pertinent than 2 quotes to Morcom's mother.
