Partial coverage

This report displays 500 retrieved recent revisions — about 3% of the reported 15,014 edits. It cannot establish why a change was made, whether it is correct, or what happened outside this window.

What this edit history shows

The Wikipedia article on Byzantine Empire has been edited 15,014 times since it was created in 2001, by 4,794 distinct accounts and IP addresses. That averages about 593 recorded changes a year, or several every day, which puts it among the more actively maintained pages on the encyclopedia.

Within the revisions retrieved for this report, the ten busiest contributors account for about 59% of the changes, with the rest spread across a long tail of occasional editors. That is a fairly typical mix of regular maintainers and passing corrections.

Within the retrieved window, 2025 carries the most recorded activity, with 306 changes. The page is currently busy: 94 of those revisions fall in the last 90 days. The most recent recorded edit was 23 days ago.

Readership has been broadly stable across the last two years of pageview data. The clearest peak in that record falls in May 2025. Traffic spikes and editing spikes often line up, but the revision record alone cannot tell you which one caused the other, or whether an outside event drove both.

This report is built from the 500 most recent revisions retrieved from Wikipedia, about 3% of the 15,014 recorded edits. Figures drawn from that window describe the window only, and the report cannot establish why a change was made or whether it was correct. For older revisions, talk-page discussion and full context, follow the source history on Wikipedia.

Future Perfect at Sunrisesorry, we shouldn't be using notes for "learned digressions" like this. In an encyclopedia, something either is important enough for the text, then it should be in the text, or it shouldn't be in the article at all.

AetolorhodeYou forgot Bithynians, Mysians, Cappadocians, Cilicians, Paphlagonians, Galatians and others. Additionally, Greeks of Ionia, Aiolis, Doris and Pamphylia were Greek-speakers since the Archaic age at least. There was no point to your addition.

BizRV flag again by [[user:PortosPL31]]. (1) Infox box content should exist already in the article and this doesn't (2) there was no one insignia to represent the empire (3) Talk has consensus to not have a flag.

BizRV. The distinction of spoken Greek matters if you read the rest of the section. Perhaps you should also read the sources while you're at it. We should only use the language employed by sources. (1) Horrocks only says spoken for Romaika. (2) Kaldellis does not even discuss this on p.166 so removing this.
