Partial coverage

This report displays 500 retrieved recent revisions — about 5% of the reported 10,240 edits. It cannot establish why a change was made, whether it is correct, or what happened outside this window.

What this edit history shows

The Wikipedia article on Leonardo da Vinci has been edited 10,240 times since it was created in 2001, by 4,066 distinct accounts and IP addresses. That averages about 410 recorded changes a year, or several every day, which puts it among the more actively maintained pages on the encyclopedia.

Within the revisions retrieved for this report, the ten busiest contributors account for only about 30% of the changes. Editing that dispersed means no small group dominates the page; most changes arrive from editors who touch it once or twice. In the same window, about 7% of the retrieved revisions came from bot accounts, which handle routine work such as link repair and reference formatting.

Within the retrieved window, 2023 carries the most recorded activity, with 138 changes. 19 of those revisions fall in the last 90 days. The most recent recorded edit was 25 days ago.

Readership has been broadly stable across the last two years of pageview data. The clearest peak in that record falls in November 2024. Traffic spikes and editing spikes often line up, but the revision record alone cannot tell you which one caused the other, or whether an outside event drove both.

This report is built from the 500 most recent revisions retrieved from Wikipedia, about 5% of the 10,240 recorded edits. Figures drawn from that window describe the window only, and the report cannot establish why a change was made or whether it was correct. For older revisions, talk-page discussion and full context, follow the source history on Wikipedia.

JMFRevert. It was Italy (aka Italia) then too. No need to confuse political geography with physical geography.

JMF"Italy-born" is pedantic. Google maps says 35km walling distance (but yes, needs an "about")
Jun 22, 2026
Cattenion"20 miles from Florence" is obviously not possible because "in, or close to" so (by the source here) place of birth isn't certainly known + presumably no-one would measure the exact distance of the exact location of LdV's birth to Florence + if the measurement were made: isn't possible to be "20".000 ([[ad infinitum]] zero's) because different parts of baby LdV would be different distances

Cattenion"Italian" is the conventional version - but current evidence indicates people are (perhaps) a mixture of heritages, the result of non obvious past genetics (perhaps with small percentage other, including [[neanderthal]] genes) -the previous obscures this fact by being obvious and familiar a fact of this individual: https://medlineplus.gov/genetics/understanding/dtcgenetictesting/neanderthaldna/ "European...1 to 2%"
